Preparatory Meeting of International Conference on Marxist Critical Theory in Eastern Europe: In memory of Ágnes Heller

The International Conference on Marxist Critical Theory in Eastern Europe (ICMCTEE2020) will be held during November 13-16, 2020 in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, China. This will be an opportunity for the presentation of new work and research results across a wide variety of Eastern Europe Marxist Critical Theory Studies, to enhance the world-wide field of Marxist critical theories, to share studies of critical theory of Eastern Europe, and to promote the construction of Chinese Marxism and its aesthetics. It is a continuation of 2018 November Event (ICMCTEE2018).

Fu Qilin and Agnes Heller, Chengdu 2018
Leading scholars will be invited to give thematic lectures and to conduct extensive discussions with the participants by means of keynote speeches and interactive communication. The main motif for the event is set by the mourning of Professor Ágnes Heller. Agnes died on 2019 July 19 at the age of 91, while swimming in Lake Balaton in Hungary. The conference aims to bring together researchers and scholars in this area from all over the world, to contribute as keynote speakers, to discuss her work and its impact and to share other insights in these broad areas.

Call for papers:
All participants are invited to submit conference papers and outlines around these themes. Please submit an expression of interest and request an application form via the contact form below before June 30, 2020.
The organizing committee will issue a formal invitation to each participant in early July. After the conference, the best papers will be published in leading journals such as Thesis Eleven (Australia), Cultural Studies and Literary Theory (China, CSSCI), Marxist Aesthetics Research (China, CSSCI).
